I am an enthusiastic and experienced artist and tutor specialising in printmaking and acrylics. Having studied design and illustration at art college I worked for many years as a commercial artist. I now divide my time between teaching and pursuing my own work, with involvement in exhibitions, studio trails, and private commissions. Some of my latest commercial work is for Heritage Crafts.
‘Printmaking and acrylics are very versatile and complimentary mediums to work in – I love the unpredictable nature of the mark-making and the diversity of effects, both planned and unplanned, that can be achieved in printmaking. Painting in acrylics gives me the opportunity to be more expressive and free in my work whilst indulging my love of colour. I also work in mixed media and often use print in conjunction with collage, acrylics and ink, combining several elements together.’
‘I am inspired by the scenery of the coast where I grew up and the memories of childhood holidays to Devon and Cornwall. A large part of my work concentrates on harbours, headlands, boats & beaches and the landscape of the south of England.’
